In 2024, WP1 of HOPE Horizon Europe project made significant advancements on the #aircraft and #propulsion system component level. A baseline aircraft (HOPE-BL) was successfully defined and will act as a benchmark against which the HOPE technologies will be compared. In terms of the propulsion technology bricks, the #multifuel turbofan engines were finalized, extensive simulations were carried out for the (boundary layer ingestion) #BLI propulsor and different #fuelcell systems were conceptually designed and assessed. Moving forward, WP1 will prioritize the integration of these technology bricks into the aircraft, along with a comprehensive assessment of their integrated benefits.
