HOPE at ICAS 2024

From 9th to 12th of September, some members of the HOPE consortium attended the 34th Congress of the International Council of the Aeronautical Sciences (ICAS 2024) to present some preliminary results obtained in the HOPE project.

The first contribution will present some findings of WP1, in particular the modelling and the initial assessment of the fuelcell auxiliary propulsion and power unit (APPU). This work is authored by Moritz G. Kolb, Arne Seitz, Barlas Türkyılmaz, Yiyuan Ma and Mirko Hornung from Bauhaus Luftfahrt.

The second contribution will present other findings of WP1, in particular the design optimization of a boundary layer ingestion (BLI) propulsor for a multi-fuelhydrogen aircraft. This work is authored by Andrea Battiston, Andrea Magrini, Rita Ponza, Ernesto Benini, Barlas Türkyılmaz, Arne Seitz and Alexander Heidebrecht from Hit09 Srl, Università degli Studi di Padova, Bauhaus Luftfahrt and Delft University of Technology.

The third contribution will present findings of WP2, in particular the CFD-based scouting for the design of a multifuel kerosene/hydrogen atmospheric burner. This work is authored by Lorenzo Palanti, Lorenzo Mazzei, Cosimo Bianchini, Sarah Link, Kaushal Dave, Francesca De Domenico and Arvind Gangoli Rao from Ergon Research and Delft University of Technology.
